Hear that,see that

We usehear thatandsee thatto introduce new pieces of information. When we do this, the verbshearandseemean ‘understand’ or ‘notice’. We normally usehearwhen we are thinking of something someone told us, andseewhen we are thinking about something we read about or saw. We often use the verbs in the present simple and sometimes leave outthat:

I hearKevin’s getting married in June.

Iseethe Indian cricket team won again.

We use verbs such asunderstand,learnandgatherin a similar way:

Wegatherthat this is the key for the flat.

I saw them yesterday and theyunderstandhe has resigned.
