If someone is extremely tired, you can say that the person isexhaustedorworn out.

You can describe someone who is tired because they have been working very hard asburned outordrained.

He was completely burned out after a full week of performances.
I'd worked a twelve-hour day and was absolutely drained.

You can also informally say that someone who is extremely tired iswiped outordog-tired. In very informal UK English, you can also say they areknackered,stonkered, orshattered.

I've been up since 4 a.m. and am just wiped out.
I've been on my feet all day and I'm dog-tired.
UKAfter a long day of shopping, I'm just knackered.
UKI was absolutely stonkered after that long run.
UKMoving house has left me shattered.

If someone is tired and wants to go to sleep, you can describe that person asdrowsyorsleepy. If that person is so tired that they can't get to sleep, you can say they areovertired.

The heat had made me drowsy.
I'm feeling a little sleepy - I think I'll go to bed.
The baby is overtired and will cry for the rest of the night.
