A baffle wall has been built in the combustion chamber, which compels the gases to pass downward and to divide through two openings before they reach the boiler shell.
A stop valve, N, is fixed to the supply pipe, P, under which is place a back pressure valve to retain the pressure in the combustion chamber.
It consisted essentially of a combustion chamber formed of thin copper, gilt internally.
Next place on the bottom of the combustion chamber a piece of cotton waste, or a handful of shavings saturated with petroleum and burning with a flame.
This fan is also connected in such a way as to furnish air for the long combustion chamber when desired.
